On February 17 2021, Marylanders with “front line” expertise—classroom educators, district and state curriculum experts, nonprofit professionals providing in-school and after school programing, as well as elected officials and state business leaders—met to discuss and recognize ways in which Maryland leads the nation. They also sought to make recommendations about how to address opportunity gaps and to strengthen civics education and service-learning, this year and beyond.
